The Green High School boys varsity soccer team, currently 3-4-0 overall and 1-1-0 in the Federal League, is set to begin perhaps the most challenging week in what is easily their most challenging schedule in recent memory. If Green will have an opportunity compete for a third straight Federal League title, they will need a victory Tuesday, September 19, when they host North Canton Hoover at Green Memorial Stadium (JV starts at 5:15; Varsity at 7). The Vikings are currently 7-1-1 and 3-0-0 in Federal League matches. Thursday, September 21, Green will travel to Walsh Jesuit high school, currently 3-4-1 and much better than their record suggests, especially based on their opponents .728 winning percentage.
The weekend offers no respite for the Bulldogs as they come back home to face Anthony Wayne on Saturday, September 23. The Generals are 6-1-2 and ranked #7 in Division I in Ohio. The varsity game will start at 3 (JV at 1) since Anthony Wayne will be traveling from Whitehouse, Ohio. Finally on Tuesday, September 26, the Bulldogs will travel to Jackson to challenge the Polar Bears, currently 6-1-2 overall and 2-0-1 in the Federal League. The following Saturday will be a well-earned day off of games for the boys as Green High School will host its 2017 Homecoming Dance.
