Green Bulldogs Varsity fell behind early and couldn’t come back in a 13-2 loss to Jefferson Area on Saturday. Jefferson Area scored on a home run by Moore in the first inning, a double by Hurst in the second inning, a single by Davis in the second inning, a home run by Moore in the second inning, and a single by Hagerdon in the second inning.

The Green Bulldogs Varsity struggled to contain the high-powered offense of Jefferson Area, giving up 13 runs.

Jefferson Area opened up scoring in the first inning, when Moore homered on a 2-1 count, scoring three runs.

Jefferson Area scored six runs in the second inning. Hurst, Davis, Moore, and Hagerdon all moved runners across the plate with RBIs in the inning.

Wilbur got the win for Jefferson Area. She lasted four innings, allowing seven hits and two runs while striking out three and walking zero. Wilbur threw three innings in relief out of the bullpen.

Liberty Torres took the loss for Green Bulldogs Varsity. She allowed seven hits and eight runs over one inning, striking out one and walking one.

Kami Helm, Campbell Collinsworth, Beth Rickman, Kelly Daugherty, Grace Randall, Paityn Smith, and Emily Spada each collected one hit to lead Green Bulldogs Varsity.

Jefferson Area collected 18 hits on the day. Hagerdon, Moore, Hurst, Davis, and Matuz all managed multiple hits for Jefferson Area. Jefferson Area was sure-handed in the field and didn’t commit a single error. Moore had the most chances in the field with six.
